Resignation and Termination of services

Terminations are an inevitable part of personnel activity within any organization, and many of the reasons for termination are routine. Below are examples of some of the most common circumstances under which employment is terminated:
Resignation: Employment termination initiated by an employee who chooses to leave the organization voluntarily.
Discharge: Owing to poor performance of an employee, the company terminates the services.
Lay Off: Employment termination initiated by the company on disciplinary grounds.
Retirement: Voluntary retirement from active employment status initiated by the employee.

On receipt of a letter of resignation duly approved by the concerned head, the same is entered into the Separation register. The Clearance Certificate form is issued to the employee to obtain clearances from various concerned departments. A copy of the duly filed Separation Clearance Certificate is sent to the Accounts department to make the full and final settlement. The Separation Clearance Certificate is filed in the concerned Employee’s Personal file. An exit interview is conducted. The list of separations is sent to the Chairman, MD, US Operations on a monthly basis.

When an employee is continuously absent from the place of work for more than 15 working days without prior intimation or approval from the respective function head, he/she is treated as missing from service without formal notice. The details of such missing employees will be updated in the database as missing employees. The intimation regarding missing employees will also be sent to the finance department, and the salaries of these employees are put on hold.
